Announcements 2005
- Dr. Ryan Wicker was awarded the Best Paper Award at the 2005 Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing Conference of the Society of Manufacturing Engineering.
- Dr. Benjamin C. Flores Associate Dean for the College of Engineering, received $2.5 million from the National Science Foundation to sustain and assess the impact that the Center for Effective Teaching and Learning (CETaL), the Academic Center for Engineers and Scientists (ACES), and the Circles of Learning for Entering Students (CircLES) programs are having on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) student retention and success.
- Dr. Patricia Nava was awarded the Chancellor’s Professor of the Year Award and the Lockheed Martin Teaching Excellence Award for her outstanding teaching and mentoring record.
- Dr. Pat Teller received the IBM SUR award, $600,000 for a supercomputer.
- Dr. Nigel Ward received a competitive $449,000 Grant from NSF, for research on Modeling Real-Time Interpersonal Interaction in Spoken Communication.
- Dr. Rafael Gutierrez received the Western Decision Sciences Institute 2004 Best Paper Award for his paper titled "Lumpy Demand Characterization and Forecasting Performance: An Exploratory Case Study".
