The College of Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso welcomes alumni back for the 2018 Homecoming celebration. A tradition that unites the past and the present and recognizes outstanding alumni from the College.
Festivities are set to begin Sunday, September 30 with the 9th Annual Miner Dash and finalizing with the Homecoming football game on October 6 at 5:30 p.m., where UTEP will face North Texas at the Sun Bowl Stadium.
The department of Civil Engineering luncheon will take place Friday, October 5 at 11:30 a.m. in the Chemistry and Computer Science Building courtyard.
The Distinguished Alumni dinner, a ceremony where all UTEP colleges recognize Distinguished Alumni and Gold Nugget awardees will take place Friday, October 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the Don Haskins Center.
The Engineering Gold Nugget award recipients will be recognized Saturday, October 6 at 8:00 a.m. during the annual Engineering Alumni and Gold Nugget breakfast at the Tomás Rivera Conference Center, located on the third floor of the Union Building East.
This year's Gold Nugget recipients are metallurgical and materials engineer Sam Armijo, Ph.D., class of 1959 and civil engineer Peter Chan, who received his bachelor's degree in 1989 and his master's degree in 1990.
