Why I Give: Changing the Face of Engineering
As dean of the College of Engineering, I not only have the great privilege to lead one of the top colleges at UTEP, but I am also an investor. I feel UTEP is a model for the changes higher education must go through to meet the challenges of our young century. Adapting and changing educational models to fully engage bright students and faculty from diverse backgrounds are keys to the success of society nationally and abroad.
Living in El Paso and working at UTEP has taught me much about the strength of connecting to diverse communities in a bi-national setting.
Our commitment to reaching out to emerging populations is yielding substantial new opportunities for our students and faculty – but we a have a long way to go. Your personal interest and support of our vision makes a difference – together we can transform the future.
