UTEP Computer Science Professor Elected to IEEE Systems Board

Vladik Kreinovich Ph.D. Professor of Computer Science at The University of Texas at El Paso has been elected to the Board of Governors of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (SMCS) as a member-at-large, for a three-year term beginning January 2012.
The IEEE Systems Board of Governors serves as the senate of SMCS by overseeing the organization's operations. The SMCS is the world's largest organization dedicated to advance technology to improve human lives by increasing the role of robotics in the fields of medicine and Engineering.
Dr. Kreinovich has been part of the Department of Computer Science at the University since 1990, specializing in the fields of computers, mathematical foundations of intelligent control. He has published 5 books and more that 500 papers. Dr. Kreinovich is also member of the editorial board of the international journal "Reliable Computing" and sev eral other journals. Also in 2003 he was recognized with the El Paso Energy Foundation Faculty Achievement Award for Research.
