CHYANNE SMITH | October 11, 2016

Homecoming 2016
Homecoming 2016

Engineering alumni from the University of Texas at El Paso will celebrate their 2016 with their Alumni and Gold Nugget Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29 in the Tomas Rivera Conference Center, room 308, in the Union East Building.

This year's Gold Nugget Recipient is computer scientist Brian Cloteaux, Ph.D., from the graduating class of 1993.

Cloteaux currently works at the National Institute of Standards and Technology as a researcher in the applied mathematics department. Alongside his research, Cloteaux enjoys working with students during the Institute's Summer Undergraduate Research Program, inspiring them to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

"The professors in the UTEP's computer science department emphasized the real-world and interdisciplinary applications of computer science, changing his outlook on what it meant to be a computer scientist."

The Engineering Gold Nugget Breakfast is open to all UTEP engineers, and the college would love for everyone to come together for a morning of delicious food and celebrating each other's accomplishments. To attend, please purchase your ticket at https://alumni.utep.edu/sslpage.aspx?pid=1582.
