Computational Science Doctoral Student Offered Competitive Internship

Kirin Kumar Katta, Computational Science doctoral student at The University of Texas at El Paso has been selected for the 2010 Summer Internships in Parallel Computational Science (SIParCS) program at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR).
During the ten-week internship, Katta will conduct original research under the guidance of a science mentor. He will also prepare a research paper and presentation, and will participate professionally in all SIParCS activities. He was selected to collaborate with Ram Nair on the project High-order Locally Conservative Methods.
"This is a very competitive internship," said Dr. Vinod Kumar, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering. "I think this is an outstanding achievement by our student."
