ExciTES Offers Experience to Students
May 28, 2013
The College of Engineering will be offering the annual ExciTES Summer Program where students from 6th grade to 12th grade have the opportunity to be introduced to a variety of engineering fields including electrical engineering, materials engineering, civil engineering and computer science, through inquiry-based/team-oriented projects.
The objectives of ExciTES are not only to create awareness of the diverse fields of engineering and science but to also encourage participants to attend college and be familiar with UTEP's College of Engineering and Science. As a result, participants will have the opportunity to conduct experiments in UTEP Engineering laboratories and facilities that will be working side-by-side with engineering faculty and current students.
All activities will be structured into team environment where participants will engage in hands-on and thematic modules, encouraging students from the El Paso/Ciudad Juarez region to use their knowledge, imagination, and creativity and apply it to traditional math and science problems.
The ExciTES Summer Program has limited space per session; registration fee per students has been lowered to $85 except for Session IV, which will take place July 8-12 and or July 15-17. Registration fees will be collected the first day of the session.
