Jaime Nava, a Computer Science doctoral student at The University of Texas at El Paso has been selected to receive a prestigious Google scholarship in the amount of $10,000.
Nava, who expects to complete his PhD in the fall of 2011, earned both this undergraduate and master ’s degrees at UTEP in the field of Computer Science.
According to Nava, this is one of the best scholarships that a student can get.
"In Computer Science they do a very good job of supporting students through PhD aspirations. I may have still been able to pay for school but it would have been very, very tight. I was very excited when I learned that I was selected for this scholarship."
