Engineering Professor Selected for NASA Fellowship

Norman Love, Ph.D., Research Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, at The University of Texas at El Paso has been selected for the 2012 NASA Glenn Faculty Fellowship Program.
As Faculty Fellow, Dr. Love will conduct research at the Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio from June 4 through August 10. The opportunity gives Professor Love access to some of the best equipment and facilities in the world and a chance to work alongside other leading research engineers and scientists.
Glenn Research Center researches, designs, develops and tests innovative technology for aeronautics and spaceflight. Topics include aerospace power, space electronics, and launch and exploration vehicles. Researchers in fields from systems engineering, propulsion system aerodynamics, materials and structures, controls, and electronics, to name a few, collaborate to develop game changing technology for spaceflight.
Dr. Love's primary research interests are combustion and advanced energy technologies. He was awarded with an outstanding research performance award at the University of Oklahoma where he received his Ph.D., and has published articles on energy related technologies.
"I am very honored to have been selected for the fellowship and look forward to representing UTEP at NASA Glenn," Norman Love said. "It is an opportunity to strengthen UTEP's relationship with NASA and will result in increased research venues and exposure to state of the art technologies."
