Electrical Engineering Professor Elected to the AIMBE Fellows

Wei Qian Ph. D Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso has been elected to The American Institution for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) 2012 Class of the College of Fellows. The Fellow Induction and Award Ceremony will take place at AIMBE's 21st Annual Event of February 20, 2012 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C.
This selected group of College Fellows consists of the top two percent of medical and biological engineers in the country. The elected members of this group are said to be some of the most talented and influential engineers in their field.
Dr. Qian has been elected for his outstanding contributions to the research in the biomedical field. Qian also serves as the Director of the Medical Imaging Informatics Program where their research consists of developing x-ray machines, which would allow detecting a disease and creating an evaluation of the progression of the disease.
Helping to revolutionize medicine throughout their research and with a purpose to enhance and extend the lives of people around the world this group of engineers are also providing leadership and advocacy in the fields of medicine and biological engineering.
